Any occasion can use bagpipes. Even though I believe that I knew funerals would be the majority of the requests with bagpiping. Holding that thought in my mind I asked numerous questions of Jesus about how to honor people and how to communicate that well. One of the answers he gave was the visual in our logo. There is a hand on the bottom of the heart lifting it up, representing all those present at the event. The second hand reaches down to hold the heart with the first. This represents Jesus meeting us in our joy, morning, etc. I loved that answer and moved in that direction to weep with those who are weeping, and rejoice with those who rejoice.
I do funerals for children under 18 for free. One of my purposes of learning the bagpipes was to stand alongside those who have suffered one of life's most tragic pains. While their loved one is separated for now there is more beyond this life. The God who made our universe has not lost their child and is near them in their pain.

For funerals I give the book " Imagine Heaven" by John Burke. It gave me answers and hope that Jesus is better than I thought he was and he won't lose any one that is his. You may be able to find a copy for free at your local library.
Additionally the film "After Death" uses several of the stories from the book "Imagine Heaven" in a documentary form.
Estimates and quote details
Hello I am Dylan Huhn with Life wind bagpiping and I'd love to do your event. My contact number is 920-564-0045 . To ensure I can give you my best I do a phone call before confirming an event to see that I meet your needs and make this as easy as possible for you. If I am not the best fit for your event I will recommend others. These quotes are estimates that are finalized with payment. There are no holds or delays, whomever pays me gets the time and the booking. I give a 10% discount if paying by cash.
I charge a base rate of 200 dollars an hour, with a one hour minimum charge, and 67 cents per mile to and from the event. For every 15 minutes of continuous playing I will need a 10 minute break.
Bagpipes get up to the 90-95 decibel range, and there is no way to dampen the sound it will like starting a lawn mower at your event. Keep this in mind when planning.

Instrument limitations: Bagpipes lose their tuning in temperatures under 40 degrees Fahrenheit and can freeze. I cannot guarantee the instrument will perform in freezing temperatures.
I play Great Highland Bagpipes, which people occasionally confuse with uilleann pipes.
